Hello and thanks for your interest in the Traildog Yahoogroups email list. It has existed in one incarnation or another for well over ten years. This is an automated message.

Your request to subscribe is awaiting approval by one of the list moderators or me. Virtually every request is approved within 12 hours unless it's a holiday or weekend. Notification of your approval should arrive shortly.

Only about 5 times each year do I reject a potential subscriber. The reason involved in 99.9 percent of my rejections (rejections are rare here in the first place) is that the rejected subscriber didn't enter anything into the "reason why I want to subscribe" block. In almost every instance in which the potential subscriber neglected to fill in that block, the subscriber was also a spammer. I aggressively prevent spamming. If you are rejected on this basis, you can resolve this by re-subscribing and entering something into that block that reasonably describes why you want to join.

There have been a couple of very exceptional situations in which the potential subscriber was rejected. Those were when we knew of the subscriber and were aware that he was prone to disruptive, "troll" like list behavior. These individuals know who they are and won't be surprised if they're kicked out.
