I'm glad you've taken the opportunity to get information about your child's school. I started running school e-mail lists in November of 2001 because I heard complaints that parents weren't getting school information from their children (surprise!).
A few things to note:
• I'm a "parent" (i.e. an unpaid volunteer) and can't answer every question. I will, however, try to figure things out or will direct you to the person who can help you. People sometimes get information to me at the last minute which may frustrate them when I don't get their messages out right away. I do attempt to get things out in a timely manner when possible. Those of you in booster clubs should plan on sending information to me at least three days in advance to ensure you get good publicity. I also hope you will spell-check your messages and check dates/times before sending information to save me time.
• I don't advertise for list members, but will share information for Volcano Vista-sponsored fundraisers and sports camps when I am made aware about such activities.
• I'm not the activities director and do not know when every activity takes place. I may miss a concert or sporting event due to not getting such information. I also don't post about EVERY single game or concert. I will highlight special events like opening games, or important district or state sporting events. I will also highlight special concerts, plays, and important test dates (as long as I am made aware about them).
