A DEEP LOW PRESSURE TROUGH WITH ORIGINS IN THE GULF OF ALASKA
WILL MOVE DOWN THE CALIFORNIA COAST THIS WEEKEND BRINGING WINDY
CONDITIONS THIS WEEKEND. THIS COLD SYSTEM WILL BRING COOLING EACH
DAY THROUGH SUNDAY. THE AIRMASS IS INITIALLY QUITE DRY AND THE
COMBINATION OF HIGH WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITIES WILL RESULT IN RED
FLAG CONDITIONS IN THE UPPER AND LOWER DESERTS THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING.
THE WINDS WILL DECREASE SLIGHTLY OVERNIGHT AND THE HUMIDITIES
WILL INCREASE. HOWEVER...ON SATURDAY THE STRONG WINDS AND LOW
RELATIVE HUMIDITY WILL RETURN TO THE HIGH DESERTS. THEREFORE THE
RED FLAG WARNING HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 11 PM SATURDAY FOR THE HIGH
DESERTS OF THE APPLE AND LUCERNE VALLEYS .
