There will be a welcome back dance TONIGHT in the gym from 7 to 9:30. It is only $5.00 per person with you student ID. You must have your student Id to get into the dance.
DRIVER EDUCATION SIGN-UPS are before school and during lunch in the Activities Office. You must be 15 years old by the first day of the class. The class meets after school Monday - Thursday, and daily attendance is required. We will have 1 class this semester & 1 class next semester. There is no fee for the class, and does not include any driving time. After sign-ups, students will be contacted to complete enrollment and permission form for the class.
Volcano Vista's Taking Flight Productions will be presenting the Rogers and Hammerstein musical, THE KING AND I. Taking Flight Productions is looking for actors, technical crews, and musicians to produce this all student musical. If you are interested in being apart of this award winning production, then stop by room J 122 - that's in the Theatre - and pick up an informational packet. Packets will be available starting Friday, 20 August. There will be an audition workshop on Monday, 23 August from 3:30pm until 5:30pm - you can get used to the theatre space and learn about auditioning. It is not necessary to attend the entire workshop and you can come late or leave early. Auditions will be 24, 25, 26, and 27 August. Be apart of this, our first musical production in the Theatre. Parking passes will be on sale at 7am and at lunch for the next 2 weeks in the Activities Office. Passes are $35.00. Please remember to bring all the requested information with you when you make your purchase.
Any freshman interested in going out for the Freshman Football team needs to see Coach Zufall asap. Deadline is today with a completed physical.
The boys soccer team will be holding a car-wash this Saturday, August 21 at Walgreens on the corner of Universe and Paradise. Stop by and get your car-washed and support the soccer program.
APS Punch Cards are for sale in the 9th Grade Academy office during lunch. The punch cards are a great way to skip the lines to purchase tickets, get cheaper admission price and a portion of the sales goes back to the school. Adult and student punch cards are available with 10 or 20 punches.
National Honor Society Members: There is an opportunity to add to your schedule a class called "Community Service" which would assign you to work in a 9th grade math class for one period as a peer tutor for students. If you are interested in earning an elective credit as a math tutor, please contact Mrs. Jones in E203 no later than Friday at lunch.
National Honor Society Officers: Please bring your lunch to an Officers' Meeting today at lunch in E203.
National Honor Society Members: Our first meeting of the year for NHS will be Monday, August 30th at lunch. The location will be announced. Remember, attendance is mandatory for cords and letters.
Freshman Football still needs 3 managers for the upcoming season. Please see coach Zufall in H209 at lunch if you are interested. You must be available Mon-Sat and have good grades. Again, see coach Zufall in H209 at lunch
