09/13/2010 | 0702 | Initial Attack Activity was light in the GACC yesterday with 19 fires for 3 acres. There are 2 fires being managed to achieve multiple objectives. There are currently no large fires burning in the GACC; NOPS is supporting large incidents in South Ops and Nevada. Fuels are dry throughout the region. 1000 hour fuels are measured below 15 percent. Live fuel moistures are measured between 70 and 125 percent. A low pressure trough will gradually deepen offshore over the next several days. The North Ops region will likely see variable mid and high clouds with increasing S-SW winds through midweek. There is a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms near the OR border each day. On Thursday high pressure will pass overhead, but the offshore low will follow, moving inland and producing a chance of rain late Friday through the weekend, mainly in northern areas. |
