This is Constitution Week! On September 17, 1787 the U.S. Constitution was signed by the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. VVHS, and all other public schools and colleges across America, will be celebrating Constitution Week this week. On Friday at lunch, look for posters around the school that present questions about current Constitutional issues such as immigration and gun control. Write on the posters and express your opinion on these issues. Throughout the week we will be presenting some of these issues during morning announcements so you can be thinking about how the Constitution affects your life!

Any senior interested in signing up for Homecoming Court stop by the Activities Office at lunch and pick up an application. You must be classified as a senior, have at least a 2.0 GPA and be involved in at least one activity at VVHS and meet NMAA eligibility requirements. There will be a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, September 14 at lunch in the lecture hall- please be on time with your application ready to turn in. We will be taking pictures so look pretty!.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: There is a meeting today in the Lecture Hall at lunch. You will sign in with your assigned group, Service, Fund Raising, or Tutoring. The required annual fundraiser will be discussed. Participation is mandatory. See you at lunch in the Lecture Hall.
All girls interested in playing softball: there will be a meeting during lunch on Thursday. The meeting will begin at 11:20, so get your lunch then come to the meeting. Again, there is a meeting this Thursday for all girls interested in playing softball this year.
There is a required meeting for all members of the Spanish National Honor Society on Tuesday, Sept 14th in room E112 at lunch. This meeting is required to earn a letter or cord; all members must attend.
The names and pictures of students who will be modeling in the 2010 Homecoming fashion show will be posted after lunch in the main hallway. All of those who are modeling must attend a mandatory meeting this Thursday at lunch in F225. Congratulations to all the models!
There will be a sophomore class meeting this Wednesday in A101, Mrs. Bullard’s room at lunch. All sophomores are invited to attend.
BLOOD DRIVE: We will be having a blood drive on Wednesday, September 15. You must be 16 and weigh at least 110 lbs. Stop by Activities to sign up.
Attention Senior Parents! Join us on Wednesday, September 15th at 6:30 PM for Senior Parent Night. Presentations will include the senior timeline, the financial aid process and choosing the right college. There will also be representatives from the University of New Mexico, New Mexico State University and Central New Mexico Community College. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact your academy counselor.
