Notes:		This evening in 1996 a fire began in the Pacific Valley area of the Big Sur Coast and burned up and over the mountains and into the Ventana Wilderness and ultimately into the western reaches of Fort Hunter Liggett and ultimately consumed 25,000 acres, 5 homes, 9 outbuildings, and 2 RV's. The fire was started by a man who leased heavy equipment out to the federal government during fires and he was aided by an employee. He was later outed by his wife during divorce proceedings.
