RE: [californiadisasters] Bomb Guy

I was in VFA-102 (the Diamondbacks) CVW-5(USS Kitty Hawk) and I was a plane capt. on a F/A 18F Superhornet and I got a lesson the first week of not to get in the way of the ordinance and to keep up if I saw the ordinance workers running for their lives. I knew the EOD team that was deployed with us and they were some of the coolest people on the boat, besides the SEALS that were with us too. I moved from the Diamondbacks to VAW-115 (Liberty Bells) Hawkeye early warning squadron. We still had explosives on the Hawkeyes in the parachutes and the O2 tanks in the nose of the aircraft. I was thinking of being in EOD and I still am.

Uh huh.

I was in ordnance in the military, and knew the EOD guys. All I worked with
was in good condition and stable. I never was tempted to volunteer for EOD.

True very true. Ever see the shirt "I am a Bomb Tech, if you see me running
keep up". Says a lot.
