2002: Santa Ana winds started on 2.8 and ended on this day.
A gust of 80 mph was measured at Descanso,
78 mph at Fremont Canyon and 76 mph in San Bernardino.
A fire developed in the Fallbrook area.

2001: Twenty five mile "hail trail" from Fresno to east of Clovis.
Hail up to ¾ of an inch in diameter fell resulting in damage to crops.

2001: Over a week of heavy snow that started on 2.6 and ended on 2.14 continued on this day.
The snowfall was called "most in a decade."
Five feet fell at Blue Jay and Mountain High, two feet at Snow Summit, and five to 12 inches at Apple Valley.
The roof of an ice rink caved in at Blue Jay.
On this day a waterspout was observed two miles west of La Jolla and a funnel cloud was observed three miles northwest of La Jolla.

2000: Heavy rain caused flash flooding and mudslides that killed three and injured eight.

1999: A period of Santa Ana winds began on this day and ended on 2.12.
Gusts of 85 mph were measured at Rialto, gusts to 80 mph were reported from Interstate 8, closing it.

1993: Heavy rain that started on 2.7 and ended on this day brought one to five inches of rainfall near the coast, up to ten inches of precipitation to the mountains and 0.5 to 1.5 inches in the deserts.
Eight to 18 inches of snow fell in the mountains.
Widespread flooding occurred.

1992: A series of many intense storms started on 2.5 and ended on 2.16.
The storms brought a total of 20+ inches of precipitation to the mountains and eight to16+ inches to lower elevations.
Two were killed in an avalanche at Mt. Baldy.
Flash flooding, mud slides, and road closures also occurred.

1988: Record heat hit the region on this day and on 2.11.
The 92° reading at San Juan Capistrano was the nation's high for the date.
It was 90° at Lemon Grove, 88° at LA and Escondido.
On 2.11 it was 83° in San Diego, 87° in many locations around San Diego.

1978: An F3 tornado in Huntington Beach injured six and caused $3 million in property damage.
This is one of only two F3 tornadoes to have been recorded in California.
Another tornado hit El Segundo, hurling trees onto parked cars.
Also, power poles were knocked down along a one mile path.
Heavy rain that began on 2.8 ended on this day.
16.4 inches fell at Lytle Creek, 13.64 inches at Lake Arrowhead, 11.97 inches in Wrightwood, 11.15 inches in Devore, 10.4 inches at Santiago Peak, 8.5 inches in Crestline, 5 inches in Ontario, 4.79 inches in Big Bear Lake, and 3.83 inches in Santa Ana.
20 were killed all over Southern California.
Widespread flooding, flash flooding, and mud slides resulted, and numerous homes washed away.

1976: A heavy rain period that began on 2.4 ended on this day.
4.30 inches of rain fell in San Diego.
Strong storm winds hit 64 mph at Palmdale.

1976: Seventh consecutive day of measurable rain in Fresno, with 4.01" falling from the 4th through the 10th of February.
Daily precipitation records were set on both the 5th (0.83") and on the 9th (1.50").
Other storm totals included 4.15" at Batterson, 4.89" at Coarsegold, 3.86" at Dinuba, 5.57" at North Fork, 5.60" at Poison Ridge and 4.27" at Sanger.
The Fresno City Works department distributed 1800 sandbags to Fresno residents as several streets and poor drainage areas in the city flooded.

1973: Heavy rain that began on this day ended on 2.11.
One to two inches of rainfall hit the coast, three to seven inches fell in the coastal valleys, and up to 12 inches fell at Mts. Wilson and Baldy.
Six inches in six hours was recorded at Mt. Wilson on 2.11.
Flooding and mud slides closed many roads.
Strong storm winds started on this day and ended on 2.11.
Winds of 57 mph were recorded at Riverside and 46 mph at Newport Beach.
Some 200 trees were uprooted in Pacific Beach alone.

1963: A strong winter storm hit the region with heavy rain on 2.9 and ended on 2.11.
Many homes and highways were flooded.
Slides blocked all mountain highways, some with large boulders.
High surf caused damage to coastal homes and structures.

1962: Strong winds destroyed a storage shed on a farm in Hanford.
