RE: [californiadisasters] Batten Down The Hatches!

There’s been PLENTY of wind here too in the north state (more today).  Enough that it (and the rain) actually woke me up the other night (no tree losses this time).  And cold enough that I may even get to see some snow (@ 1370’).  Traffic being what it is down south, I’d make sure I didn’t have to leave the house and also had an extra heat source, it be COLD out there.

We thought of taking the trailer out to escape the rain, but it’s all over the entire western states this week, no place to go that’s dry (or warm).  That’s unusual.  Besides, the wind would make it ‘challenging’ to drive (40 MPH +).

It got my attention when on Wed the NWS forecast (for San Gabriel Valley
area of LA) said 100% chance of rain Friday. As of Thurs. morning, they're
forecasting "Heavy Rain" (first I've seen this terminology in a long, long
time also). As it now stands, "Heavy Rain" Thurs night, Fri, Fri night; 100%
chance on Fri night.

This is just in a whole different class from "Slight chance of rain"!
