Or put another way, there is a 25% reduction in engine staffing. How is that more effective or better? If it isn’t better, then why make the change?
Actually, there is one more and they’re banking on it. When the fire gets large enough, only the weather (rain/snow) puts the fire out. The only things a firefighter can do when it’s that big is protect very tiny islands, or get out of the way. (well we can throw in the bean counters to be fuel.)
