Southern California: wet weather expected later today through tonight
A storm system will drop southeast off the coast through Wednesday spreading clouds and light precipitation across Southern California. The rain is expected to begin late today or this evening, but timing is uncertain due to the storm's path and a deep dry layer near the surface. The rainfall is expected to be light to moderate with most areas getting less than a quarter inch through Wednesday morning. However heavier amounts are possible if the storm tracks a little closer to the coast than expected. The snow level will be around 6000 feet. Some locations in the San Bernardino and Riverside County mountains could receive some accumulating snow but amounts look to be quite light.
