I was more likely than I would be now to feel a 1-point-something in the months after Loma Prieta; I noticed my and others awareness/sensitivity was heightened by the emotional impact for the larger quake. I also recall feeling a truck driving by. I joked I'd been turned into a human seismograph.

Hey, I'm a native born. We don't even notice until it's over a 4 and only get out of bed for >5.5. If it's under a 6.5, we just ride it out… During Loma Prieta, I was upstairs and amused at the syncopated motion of the house (in Petaluma , ON the mudflat). Yee haw! That's sorta like the Alaskans not even noticing that it's -15 or lower (Fairbanks was -49 a couple days ago, THEN factor in the wind chill).Rick

A very shallow 1-point-something directly under Daly City was sharply felt there back in the 1990's.

From: Lin KernsI'm still trying to figure out how anyone felt it. If we had a 2.4 here, it would be so negligible, as to be nonexistent.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the 2.4 magnitude earthquake struck just before 10:00 p.m. Monday night.
