Angeles NF, east of San Gabriel Reservoir Type 2 team IMT (Smith) has assumed command Fire has burned approximately 4,180 acres, and is 44% contained Inaccessible, steep, rugged terrain. Heavy fuels with critically low fuel moistures. Highway 39 remains closed.
Slides Fire, CA-SQF-02990, Tulare County, vegetation fire, Slides Area, McNally Footprint 254 acres, 100% contained. Fire will transition to a type 4 incident organization tentatively on 9/6/12 |
| 09/05 | 0800 | Williams Fire, CA-ANF-004803, Los Angeles Co., vegetation fire, east of San Gabriel Reservoir 3,806 acres 24 % contained. The fire transitioned to Unified Command with the Angeles National Forest and Los Angeles County Sheriff Departments (LACSO). Los Angeles Fire Department will remain involved as a cooperating agency. Tactical and strategic decisions are being made with emphasis being placed on safety, environmental / cultural concerns, and cost benefit.
Slides Fire, CA-SQF-02990, 20 miles north of Kernville, Tulare County, vegetation fire, Slides Area, McNally Footprint. Fire remains at 254 acres, with 90% contained. The last 10% of the fire has run into a rock outcrop, firefighters work to remove any un burned material in order to achieve 100% containment today. |
