On Saturday our Band will be participating in their first competition this year. The Pageant of the Bands will be at Wilson Stadium and our Hawks will be performing at 1:45. Everyone go out and support the band. Good Luck!
CONVERGE: We would like to invite you to our student led bible study called converge this Tuesday, October 2. It will be held in room F211 during lunch, and would like to see you there.
Underclassmen pictures are in. If you did not order pictures we have proofs for each student who took pictures. Stop by the activities office during lunch to pick yours up.
Attention MESA members...Mr G will be giving a safety/power tool briefing today after school...this should take about an hour...you must attend if you want to build your machines at school. See you there.
Come see Volcano Vista High School Taking Flight Productions present Euripides's Medea: The story of a woman gone made with her thirst for vengeance. How far will she go? Support your fellow Hawks including Mandy Van Auken as Medea, Sheehan Gonzales as Jason and Josh Trujillo as Aegeus. Show dates are Friday November 2nd and Saturday, November 3rd at 7pm. Mark your calendars now.
There are a number of college visits this week, all between the E and F hall eateries during lunch.
- Wednesday, October 3rd is Prescott College
- Thursday, October 4th is Coe College.
VVHS will also host the regional College Fair on Friday, October 5th from 7:45 to 9:00 AM in the Library.
Friday is college day. Everyone be sure to wear your favorite college shirt on Friday.
JUNIORS! Do you want help paying for college? Do you want to stand apart from other applicants in the college admission process? Qualify for the National Merit Scholarship by taking the PSAT/NMSQT. You took the PSAT as 10th graders, sign up to take it again as a junior and you could qualify for the National Merit Scholarship. The cost is $15 payable to VVHS. See Mrs. Futey in E224 to sign up by October 5th.
Seniors this is your last chance to register to vote prior to the presidential election on November 6th. Voter registration will be here on Monday to sign you up. They will be located in front of the Library.
ATHLETICS:
- On Tuesday October 9th, the Lady Hawks Volleyball Team will host their annual Dig Pink Volleyball game. The Volleyball Team will be selling Pink Volleyballs for $1.00 to help raise money for Breast Cancer research. Please wear PINK on Tuesday October 9th and buy a volleyball from any volleyball athlete.
- Boys soccer plays Del Norte here Thursday at 4:30.
