The civilians were two women. Media is saying there was little to no prior interaction between them and the officers. According to local media, the last I heard is that the one in the worst shape is in her seventies with a gunshot wound to the back. She is still hospitalized. The younger woman had to have stitches because of the shattering glass, but has been released. Family has made a public statement through a spokesperson that they are seeking an apology, but that it's too soon to talk about money.
For those who are unaware, according to my limited understanding of criminal law, even if one or both civilians had been killed by the officers, Dorner could still be potentially be charged with their deaths, because those incidents were related and occurred in connection with his other felonious crimes. (I know it would have been more proper to say "alleged crimes", but I'm fairly sure most of you will forgive my ommission here.)

Two civilians with unknown scene circumstances i.e. did they not follow the officers orders? They will survive.
One more shot, but that was in the commission of crimes. That'll be a "good shoot" in the end. Kidnap/false imprisonment, grand theft (boat), gun enhancement = buh buy loser.
So far this cretin has killed, LAPD did not.
