Goodness, has it been that long?   That fire changed my family's life and my boss's.    He lost his home and we ended up re-thinking our landscaping.    That was one ugly ugly day, like the Northridge earthquake.

Notes:		At about this time in 2008 a brush fire started from the sparks of a downed powerline in the foothills above Porter Ranch. Strong Santa Ana Winds fanned it across 14,703 acres over the course of which it destroyed 15 homes, damaged 11 others and destroyed 63 other structures. One motorist was killed in a traffic on the Simi Valley Freeway in thick, blowing smoke.
