12/17/2013	0800	Pfeiffer CA-LPF-003810  Wildland, Monterey County, Update Highway 1 at Pfeiffer Ridge Road, 4 miles south of Big Sur 500 acres, 5% contained 200 homes, 20 commercial properties and 20 outbuildings remain threatened. Central Coast Team 7, IC (Nunez), took command of the fire at 0600 this morning. ICP established at Big Sur Station. Fire behavior indicates fire running, spotting up to 1/4 mile, erratic fire behavior. Values at risk Pfeiffer Ridge community. Also South towards Sycamore Road. power lines, cell towers, watershed, steelhead and red legged frogs, condors, cultural resources, Andrew Molera State Park, Hwy 1, fish hatchery Pfeiffer Road, Front Hill Road and Clear Ridge evacuated   Damage assessment is under way.
12/16/2013	0830	Pfeiffer CA-LPF-003810 Wildland Fire  West  of Big Sur, Monterey Co FRA  Type 3 IC (Schwarm) Incident organization Fire reported at 500 acres, 0% percent containment, 50 foot flame lengths, rapid rate of spread observed Fire is burning actively in the community of Big Sur. Repeater site, cell tower and power lines down in the area of fire additional communication infrastructure impacted. Fire continues to burn in  Steep, inaccessible terrain, narrow roads HWY 1 remains open. Area is endemic to sudden oak death, no respite in weather. 300 residences threatened  with 10- 20 structures damaged or destroyed Monterey County Sheriff's department doing evacuations and point protection where appropriate due to fire behavior and limited resources Ground resources working to gain another anchor point to begin line construction
12/16/2013	0930	Local northeast to east winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph will continue across the mountains and below the canyons and passes of Southern California through this afternoon.  Temperatures will be 10 to 20 degrees above normal today, with 60s to low 70s in the mountains and mid 70s to mid 80s in the valleys.  Minimum humidity will be mainly in the single digits and teens.
12/15/2013	1700	Dry, warm and windy weather can be expected over Southern California through Monday.  The strongest winds, with gusts up to 55 mph, will occur this morning before winds gradually subside through Monday afternoon.  Cooler, onshore flow will return for the middle of the week
