At about this time in 1978 a small private aircraft (Cessna) collided with a Boeing 727 (PSA Flight 182) killing both men aboard the small plane and fatally wounding the commercial jet sending it careening into the neighborhood at Dwight Street and Nile Street in North Park. All 135 aboard the passenger flight were killed along with seven people on the ground. Nine people on the ground were injured and 22 homes were damaged or destroyed.
