[californiadisasters] On This Date In California Weather History (October 8)



1996: Edwards AFB had a high of 100° F.
This is the latest in the year a triple digit high temperature has occurred here.

1973: Palo Alto received 1.1" of rain.

1961: A tornado in Carlsbad caused property damage.

1949: 2.5" of snow fell in Idyllwild and two inches fell in Palomar Mountain.
Each snowfall is the earliest measurable snowfall for the season on record.

1889: Fresno received 0.03" of rain on this date.
The monthly total that October was 3.17" making it the second wettest October on record here with rain falling on 11 days.
Ten days had measurable amounts, a record for the month of October.
