Re: [californiadisasters] Grapevine closed

Meaning shunt the northbound traffic onto the southbound lanes?   I've not seen them do that on the Grapevine.
It appears many or turning out of the monumental backup and heading over to Newhall Ranch Road, the 14, and to the 58.

Northbound is closed, which means they'll likely shunt it into the remaining lanes, impacting both directions.   Whee. :-(

There is a reported mudslide near the top of the Grapevine along the I-5 that has the highway closed for a 40 mile stretch.   The local news is not giving much info other than that.   This is a bit surprising considering the rainfall totals for this storm were very low.    Either way, commutes should be a wreck tomorrow.
