2006: A severe thunderstorm dropped nickel size hail (0.88" diameter) in Yosemite National park north of the Lodge.
1990: An intense Sundowner Wind event descended upon the Santa Barbara area bringing the mercury at one location to 109° F and driving the Painted Cave Fire from a start near the top of San Marcos Pass all the way down into the City of Santa Barbara and jumping the 101 Freeway. Temperatures were also baking in the L.A. Basin. In L.A. the afternoon high spiked to 109° F, the second highest June temperature on record, and the 5th highest overall temperature on record.
Riverside topped out at 109° F, tying a daily record set during a prior heat wave in 1976.
The temperature in Long Beach reached 106° F, a record for the date and the 3rd highest temperature on record in June..
1979: A heat wave descended on Coachella Valley. Palm Springs afternoon high temperature reached 120° F.

1976: Redwood City had a high temperature of 104° F.
1976: Things heated up across all of SoCal.
Alpine set a record high for the month of June with a temperature of 109° F.
In the Inland Empire, Riverside reached 109° F setting a daily record high.
1952: Lodgepole (Southern Sierra) received 0.2" of snow pushing the seasonal snowfall to 522.9", making it the snowiest winter on record.
This is also the latest in the season snow has fallen here.
1937: No measurable rainfall has fallen in Las Vegas on this date since records began in 1937.
1929: Susanville's high temperature was 102° F.
1926: The minimum temperature was 97° F in Palm Springs, the highest minimum temperature on record.
