You forgot the following, I carry these with me anywhere I travel. Even repaired a bus airline with them in the back country of Fiji once! :-)
1:- Insulation tape (3M 1516 tape in preference!): Use for repairing uninsulated wires, broken shoe soles, broken airlines, band-aids for fingers and toes (Using eyepads or gauze to cover wound first.) many other uses.
2:- Rubber Conformal Tape (3M 56 tape or other "Stretch and seal" type.) Use to repair and seal radiator hoses, brake lines and other flexible hoses and pipes. As a top layer wrap some insulation tape over the top to help hold it all tight.
Other extras to think of:
Disposable HD rubber gloves: To keep hands clean when handling fuel etc.
Disposable face masks: Smoke and smog. Also if there is a chance on contamination from airborne germs.
Plastic Garbage (Trash) bags: Use as a groundsheet, to lay under a wet car, store wet clothes, catch rain water, patch broken window etc. Storm poncho
Compass: Works without batteries for navigation with maps!
Small pocket knife or Swiss army type knife with can opener etc.
Hank of nylon string.
Pocket Binoculars.
Storm matches or normal matches (Not easy light type! Needs to only ignite with a definite strike.): To light a warming fire if caught in Winter weather or for a "Signal" fire.
Disposable :Keyring" resuscitation mask.
Thick marker/texta type pen.: To write on windows of car direction you are traveling if you have to abandon car etc.
Epoxy ribbon: mouldable epoxy that can be torn off and mixed to use to plug radiator holes etc. Some can even be used to plug gas tank holes.
I carry a "Disaster type" kit every day basically in my work bag, just in case. :-)

Subject: [californiadisasters] Roadside emergency kits
Would anyone like to take a look at the emergency auto kits that I'm recommending that people build up? I'd appreciate any comments... additions or subtractions. What have I overlooked? Keep in mind the kits are not meant for end-of-the-world survival, but rather dealing with commonplace roadside emergencies.
