[californiadisasters] North Ops News & Notes Update (10/15/10-7AM)
Date | Time | News and Notes |
10/15/2010 | 0736 | Initial Attack Activity was light in the GACC yesterday with 22 fires for 15 acres reported in the Daily Situation Report, (there may be a 24-hour delay in reporting on the SIT report). There are 6 small fires being managed to achieve multiple objectives (ENF). Prescribed burning is occurring where prescriptions are met. There are currently no large fires burning in the GACC. High pressure that has brought several days of warm/dry conditions has now weakened and shifted well east of the region. This will begin a gradual cooling trend of about 3-4 degrees each day into the weekend. Large scale winds will become more southwesterly at light to locally moderate speeds. Skies should remain mostly sunny but with a gradual increase in high clouds each of the next few days. A stronger low could approach by late Sun-Mon with more extensive clouds over most of the area...along with scattered showers mainly across the Sierra/Cascades on into the Eastside PSA's. Gradual warming/drying early next week with weak high pressure building back in with N to NE large scale winds |
