The total includes nine of those that died in the past year, as well as 22 others from earlier years brought to the California Fire Foundation's attention in 2010. The Memorial in Capitol Park - which honors more than 1,100 fallen California firefighters - was unveiled in April, 2002. A uniformed firefighters procession will begin at 11:15am staging at the Capitol South Steps, with the ceremony scheduled to begin at 11:30am." http://www.cafirefoundation.org/cff/

Initial Attack Activity was light in the GACC yesterday with 8 fires for 2 acres reported in the Daily Situation Report, (there may be a 24-hour delay in reporting on the SIT report).

There is one non-reportable large fire burning in the GACC: A 3-400 acre fire is burning near Kolekole Pass in Hawaii on lands administered by the US Army.

A major pattern change is now underway. Look for a gradual cooling trend of about 3-4 degrees each day... into the weekend as a cold front slowly passes across Nrn CA. A stronger low could approach by late Sun-Mon with more extensive clouds and showers...mainly across the Sierra/Cascades range on eastward. Warmer and drier early next week with NE/offshore winds as stronger high pressure builds back into the region. Long range models continue to show the possibility of widespread rain again by the end of the week...this will continue to be monitored closely
