[californiadisasters] Severe Weather Spotter Seminar & Training Day

All current weather spotters as well as those interested in becoming spotters
or interested in basic weather observing techniques are invited to attend a
Weather Spotter Seminar and Training Day.

National Weather Service office in Eureka will be conducting Weather
Spotter Training on Saturday, October 23, 2010, from Noon until 4PM.

The main purpose of the seminar/training session is to train and update
volunteer spotters in assisting the NWS as our "eyes and ears." As spotters,
you are an integral part of the "community weather team." Periodic training
is a national effort by local weather offices across the United States.

Current spotters are encouraged to attend and interact with other spotters
and to talk about your experiences as a spotter with novice and potential new
spotters.

If you plan to attend, it is best to call and sign up ahead of time as space may
be limited.
