Four vehicles drove into the raging creek waters `resulting in the deaths of 7 people.

1978: An F1 tornado touched down in the foothills northwest of Gustine (Madera Co.).

1974: The greatest daily rainfall amount on this day in Santa Ana is a surprising 0.12 inch.

1939: 22.0 inches of snow fell at Truckee.

1935:
The low temperature at Markleeville (Alpine Co.) was -15.
