03/06	0730	El Cariso HS and Rincon have advised that they were diverted in route by NICC to New Mexico and are currently on a NICC preposition order.
03/04	1630	The El Cariso HS and Rincon Crew have been mbilized to a wildland fire the Mind Inc., Texas Forest Service in Alpine Texas.  Started on private land ten miles southwest of Alpine, TX. Juniper, brush and grass. All requests have been filled, no other request are anticipated at this point.
02/17	0800	ALERT STATE ROUTE 330 ON THE SAN BERNARDINO FOREST REMAINS CLOSED to motorists for an unknown duration due to extensive storm damage. Emergency repairs are in progress in several locations at this time. Please use alternate routes SR-18 and SR-38
02/09	0800	On this day in 1971 San Fernando earthquake (also known as Sylmar earthquake) struck the San Fernando Valley near Sylmar at 6:00:55 a.m. PST with a magnitude of 6.6. The quake claimed 65 lives and caused more than half a billion dollars in damage, including the destruction of two hospitals, two freeway interchanges and the Lower Van Norman Dam. Damage to the dam caused concern that the dam, of the earthen bulwark type, might collapse, in whole or in part. Twelve overpass bridges fell into freeway lanes, including the freeway overpass connecting the Interstate 5 freeway and the Foothill Freeway that resulted in the death of at least two people. The recently completed Newhall Pass interchange connecting Interstate 5 and the Antelope Valley Freeway was destroyed as well.
