This is getting very interesting.    There is no way our city streets and freeways can support the movement of all coastal residents.

Tsunami Watches have just been upgraded to Tsunami Warnings for entire coast of California.

The reason this has been done is nearly certainly due to the tsunami warning system in place that features buoys attached to scales sitting on the ocean bottom that measure the weight of the column of water above them and can detect a tsunami and it's relative amplitude.

This is now officially a Pacific-wide Tsunami Event.
