On This Date In California Weather History....
2003: 22.0 inches of snow fell at Glenbrook, NV.
1956: Strong storm winds hit Chula Vista.
It was counted officially as a tornado (one witness, a Texas native, claimed it was).
Roof damage was done to 60 homes and extensively to a school.
Two were injured by flying glass.
Trees were uprooted, TV antennas were toppled and more than 300 windows were shattered.
Ten fish were sucked out of San Diego Bay and deposited on the ground.
A cold snowstorm brought one foot of snow to Mt. Laguna, at least six inches at Palomar Mountain, and 1.5 inches at Julian.
1903: Bakersfield dropped to 30 degrees, setting a record low for the date.
