[Volcano_Vista_HS] 2011-12 APS Calendar

The first day of school for students at most schools, those on the traditional calendar, will be Tuesday, August 16th for the 2011-12 school year. The first semester will end on December 16th and students return to class after winter break on Wednesday, January 4th. The last day of school is set for Friday, May 25th, with school make-up days set for May 29-31 and June, after Memorial Day.

Other highlights of the traditional calendar are:

• August 12, 15, Teacher professional development, preparation day (no classes)
• September 5, Labor Day Holiday
• October 7, Fall Break
• November 11, Veterans’ Day Holiday
• November 23-25, Thanksgiving Holidays
• December 19-January 4, Winter Break (Teachers return Jan. 3)
• January 16, Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday
• February 20, Presidents’ Day
• March 12-16, Spring Break
• April 6, Vernal Holiday
• May 28, Memorial Day
