Notes:		On this date in 1923 a fire began in the Berkeley Hills on the inland side near the summit. Driven by powerful Diablo Winds it roared up over the summit and down into the City of Berkeley where it consumed 584 homes and 56 other structures. The firestorm was stopped in the same manner as the 1991 Oakland Hills Firestorm; the sea breeze finally kicked in.
