If you only want to monitor fire frequencies in your area you can pick up a cheap scanner on the Internet that will suit your needs just fine.  Easy to program.  Hit the channel you want to program, punch in the frequency USFS is 172..375, hit enter, move to next channel and repeat with a different frequency.  Simple and there are many out here that will assist you.

When I contacted ABC at 10am their response was that they knew about it but placed it between the 5 freeway and Agua Dulce Canyon Road, a rather vague description. After they Wagon fire in Agua Dulce a couple of weeks ago we all need as much advanced notice to move horses, etc.
