• ATTENTION SENIORS: There will be a powderpuff meeting at lunch today in Coach Lucero’s room, H216.
• In observance of banned book week, we are celebrating our right to read. This Thursday we will have a read-out at lunch in the library. Please select your favorite novel passage to share with us.
• We also have a bit of trivia to test your banned book knowledge.
• Today's trivia question is...What great American novel of the 19th century is challenged each year? Please drop your answer and first & last name off at the library, a correct answer will enter you in a drawling. You must be present Thursday during lunch to win.
• Sophomores and Juniors! Do you want to see what it’s like to take the ACT College Admission test? Come take a Practice ACT at Volcano Vista High School at Noon on Saturday, September 24th. It’s free, all you need to do is sign up in room E224 by September 22nd!
• MESA, the math and science club, will meet today at lunch in Ms. Conell's room F103. All members should bring their completed paperwork. We will be discussing are fall carnival activity and a possible field trip to New Mexico Tech. Everyone is welcome.
• Class pictures will be taken this week. Your teachers have the order forms. Payment must be made prior to getting your picture taken. Please use a check or money order:

1. Freshmen thru Health or IMPAC
2. Sophomores thru World History
3. Juniors thru English 11

Athletics:

• TOMORROW IS WEAR PINK DAY
• Tuesday, September 20th is the Dig Pink Volleyball Game. We are selling pink paper volleyballs for $1 to go to Breast Cancer Research. Varsity plays at around 6:30 PM. JV at 5:30 PM and C-Team at 4:30 PM. Please come out to support your VVHS Hawks Volleyball Team and Breast Cancer Research. WEAR PINK to the game.
• Our soccer teams are selling t-shirts “Kick for the Cure." Shirts are $10.00 and all proceeds will be donated to an Albuquerque family that has been affected by cancer.
• Softball practice begins today at 2:45 PM. Bring your glove, cleats and a bottle of water to the softball field today.
