In observance of banned book week, we are celebrating our right to read. This Thursday we will have a read-out at lunch in the library. Please select your favorite novel passage to share with us.
We also have a bit of trivia to test your banned book knowledge.

The Black Student Union will be having their weekly BSU meeting on Thursday, Sept 22, 2011 during lunch in F-204. The meeting will start promptly at 11:25 am. Students if you are interested in being an officer this year, there is still time to turn in application packets.
Sophomores and Juniors! Do you want to see what it’s like to take the ACT College Admission test? Come take a Practice ACT at Volcano Vista High School at Noon on Saturday, September 24th. It’s free, all you need to do is sign up in room E224 by September 22nd!
NHS Members: Order forms for NHS T-Shirts are available from Mrs. Jones in E203. Preorder payments for this fundraiser are due at our next meeting, Monday, September 26th at lunch. Get your Test Day T-Shirts sold this week!

Your teachers have the order forms. Payment must be made prior to getting your picture taken. Please use a check or money order.
Homecoming Dance Tickets go on sale tomorrow for $20.00. The price will increase to $25.00 on Thursday, September 29th. You must have your student ID to purchase a ticket and to get into the dance. If you are bringing a guest please be sure that you have the guest permission slip with you at the time of purchase. All tickets are non refundable or transferrable.
Athletics:
TODAY IS WEAR PINK DAY
- Tuesday, September 20th is the Dig Pink Volleyball Game. We are selling pink paper volleyballs for $1 to go to Breast Cancer Research. Varsity plays at around 6:30 PM. JV at 5:30 PM and C-Team at 4:30 PM. Please come out to support your VVHS HawksVolleyball Team and Breast Cancer Research. WEAR PINK to the game
- Our soccer teams are selling t-shirts "Kick for the Cure." Shirts are $10.00 and all proceeds will be donated to an Albuquerque family that has been affected by cancer.
