The New Mexico College Fair at the Convention Center is this Sunday, October 16. There are 115 colleges and universities registered, and the representatives are eager to talk to all NM students and their families, from 12 noon – 3 PM. Students of all grades plan on attend this terrific, free event. If you need more information please contact your Academy counselor or Mrs. Futey in E224.
Seniors you need to have your senior photo taken at Lifetouch Studios by October 24th to appear in the 2012 edition of the yearbook. Call 896-5570 for an appointment.
Café Italia will be held in the Performing Arts Center lobby on Thursday from 5 to 9. The cost is $8.00 per person. Come out and support our choir.
National Honor Society: We will be meeting on Monday, October 17th. This is a mandatory meeting and you must sign-in. Juniors should meet in Room H209 with Ms. Torres. Seniors should meet in Mrs Jones' room, E203. This is a change from our previous meeting locations. We will be discussing our fundraisers and community service projects. Also, remember that the semester is now half over. If you still need to sign-up for tutoring hours,stop by Room E203. The available dates and locations are posted outside theroom. MESA, the math and science club will meet today after school in Ms. Conell's room F103. We will be building and testing different types of paper bridges. Everyone is welcome.
Attention all Club Presidents and Athletic Team Captains there will be a meeting on Tuesday, October18th in E204 to discuss a school wide community service project.
HAWK IDOL...Auditions are this afternoon in G173 for all students who signed up to be a part of Hawk Idol
The bowling team has started practices for the up-coming bowling season. Practices continue Friday at 4:00 pm at Tenpins and More. If you are interested but can't get out please contact Major Campbell who will pass your information on to coach Hampel.
Athletics:
- Wrestling pre-season will be Monday thru Thursday 3 to 4 in the afternoon in the Wrestling room. Come be a part of the championship Hawk Wrestling team. Formore information contact Mikey Lovato.
- Attention all VVHS student athletes interested in being a part of the Swim Team at VVHS – there will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, October 19 at Lunch in room A109. Please plan to attend to get information about the upcoming swim season.
- Boys soccer plays Rio Rancho here today at 3:00.
- Girlssoccer plays at Rio Rancho today at 4:00.
