Volcano Vista staff and students, administrators will be coming around all week to recognize students who received a 3.5 GPA or higher in the first 6-week grading period. We want to recognize and congratulate all students demonstrated this remarkable academic achievement. Over 25% of the VVHS student body will be receiving thisrecognition this week. We challenge all students to make that extra effort to be extraordinary in the classroom. Go Hawks!

Hey Hawks student body--it's time to show our support for the breast cancer cause--the PINK OUT football game is Friday, October 21st vs Rio Rancho at Milne Stadium at 7 p.m. Pull out your pink socks, pink shirts, pink hats, and anything else you have PINK to wear to the game on Friday night. This is also our first big district game, so let's show Rio Rancho that not only will we have more students in the stands, but that we also show our support for breast cancer awareness month at Volcano Vista--we'll see you AT THE GAME!
MESA, the math and science club will be meeting today at lunch in Ms. Conell's room F103. We will be discussing RoboRAVE costs and options. We will also meet after school in Mr. Hailes room. Mr. Hailes will be our distinguished guestspeaker on the physics behind bridges. Everyone is welcome.

Seniors you need to have your senior photo taken at Lifetouch Studios by October 24th to appear in the 2012 edition of the yearbook. Call 896-5570 for an appointment.
National Honor Society: We will be meeting on Monday, October 17th. This is a mandatory meeting and you must sign-in. Juniors should meet in Room H209 with Ms. Torres. Seniors should meet in Mrs Jones' room, E203. This is achange from our previous meeting locations. We will be discussing ourfundraisers and community service projects. Also, remember that the semester is now half over. If you still need to sign-up for tutoring hours,stop by Room E203. The available dates and locations are posted outside theroom. Attention all Club Presidents and Athletic Team Captains there will be a meeting on Tuesday, October18th in E204 to discuss a school wide community service project.
