IMHO to overgeneralize about the effect of medications and/or not taking them or to imply that the medications drove him to kill, is unfair, unless you have a background in the Mental Health field or know someone on medications who has displayed violent behavior from time to time.
Many psychiatrist-prescribed medications do have side-effects when they are taken or stopped that >>>may<<< induce acts of violence or violently irrational behavior in >>>>some<<<< individuals. I doubt all or most of the individuals who have committed mass murder or fit the “Active Shooter” profile were on or stopped taking their medications prior to their rampage.
I may be overreacting here, but as someone who knows about many psychiatric medications, I thought it fair to comment on this.
