The Geo/Astro teachers are excited to host The Albuquerque Astronomical Society's Star Party at our school in 2 weeks!
This event will run from 7:30-9:30 pm in H-hall (including the main theatre) and the parking lot behind H-hall. This event is open to the public, but we'd like to make sure that all VVHS science students have the opportunity to attend. The Albuquerque Astronomical Society puts on 8 or 9 star parties per year at local schools, therefore VVHS will not be eligible to host another star party until after our current freshman class has graduated from high school.
So please, tell your students about this event and encourage them to attend on April 24th (Tuesday). Geo/Astro and IPC will be using this event to supplement our curriculum, but perhaps this could be an extra credit assignment for students in other science classes. Sign-in sheets will be available at each "exhibit" for students to record their names and write down their science teacher's name and subject.
