| 06/10 | 0800 | George Fire, CA-SQF-1834 Tulare County Significant demobilization will continue today. Transition Plan has been signed by SCSIIMT (IC Cooper) and SQF Type 3 Organization IC (Carothers). Type 3 Organization took over incident at 0600 this morning. Fire remains at 1,707 acres, and is 85% percent contained. No structures threatened at this point Last night's IR shows there is still significant heat in the escarpment area. A small area of open fire line remains in very steep and rough terrain on the east side of the fire in the Little Kern Creek drainage. Hotshot fire hand crews will be flown in the fire to work towards full containment. Crew will use natural barriers when necessary to completely secure line around the George Fire. Closures Lloyd Meadow Road (FS22S82) north of Lower Peppermint Campground, Freeman Creek Trail (32E20), Jerkey Meadow and Forks of the Kern Trailheads. |

| 06/09 | 1900 | 5 Mile CA-LAC 456790 Interstate 5 North of Parker Rd., Castaic, Los Angeles County Start date 06/08/2012 at 1600 SRA 525 acres, 100% contained As of 1800 Hrs. tonight 5 Mile fire will be under a type 3 incident IC(Massy). Tentatively as of 0800 hrs. Sunday morning, the 5 Mile incident will be turned back to Los Angeles County Fire. Difficult access for hand crews due to terrain and topographical challenges. Wind advisory for the Santa Clarita area, Sunday morning, from 0400 hrs. through 1000 hrs. Winds forecasted from NE 15-30 mph with gusts of 40 mph. Slow lane and right shoulder on Interstate Hwy continues to be closed for firefighter safety. All lanes of north bound Interstate 5 Freeway will be open to normal traffic as of Sunday morning. Excellent progress was made today with fire suppression repair.A major demob of excess resources is currently underway. |

Fire continued to smolder and rollout near escarpment area making short uphill runs possible. Interior islands continued to flare-up. Rollout material in steep ground still presents a safety concern for firefighters. Fire suppression repair continues. |

The transition process back to the District will begin today at 10:00 Hrs Fire crews who spent the night on the fire line observed little fire activity. Fire suppression activity will continues to focus on completing fire line in the steep and rugged terrain on the northeast part of the fire. Crews continue fire line suppression repair on parts of the fire where the fire line has been completed. |
