[californiadisasters] South Ops News & Notes Update (6/08/12-6:30PM)

George Fire, CA-SQF-1834 Tulare County

Giant Sequoia National Monument. Fire remains at 1,800 acres, and is 65% percent contained. Central Sierra (Cooper) Type 2 IMT remains in command.

The transition process back to the District will begin tomorrow at 10:00 Hrs

5 Mile CA-LAC 456790 Interstate 5 North of Parker Rd.,

Castaic, Los Angeles County SRA

500 acres, 10% contained

Partial closure of Interstate 5 continues

No structure threat Incident is in Unified Command with Los Angeles County & USFS, Angeles NF Difficult accessibility by hand crews due to terrain and topographical challenges.

Expected elevated temperatures and low humidity's in the affected area for

the next operational.
