[californiadisasters] On This Date In CA Weather History (July 7)

2006: Thunderstorms dropped 0.75" in 15 minutes and 1.22" in 40 minutes at Yucaipa Ridge.
Flooding occurred along some Mill Creek tributaries.
Mud and rock debris covered parts of Valley of the Falls Drive.

2004: A tornado touched down near Rockwell Pass in Sequoia National Park at around 12,000 feet in elevation.
This is highest altitude ever that a tornado has been observed at in the United States.
1 inch diameter hail also accompanied the tornado for about 15 minutes.

2001: Strong thunderstorms hit the Victor and Lucerne Valleys.
0.25" of rain fell in five minutes at Lucerne Valley.
Roads were closed due to flash flooding and mud slides.
A tornado hit Twentynine Palms and Joshua Tree.
Minor damage was incurred to homes and businesses in Joshua Tree.

1984: Highest minimum temperature records were set each day in San Diego for 15 consecutive days, starting on this
day and ending on 7.24.

1918: It was 40° in Victorville, the lowest temperature on record for July.
