The digest mode works well for those that have a life off line and prefer to read through the linked threads all at once over a cup of coffee when they can enjoy the news and comments together-- rather than a bit here and a bit there through out the day. It also works well if one never needs to make a comment or answer a question-- After all it is a personal preference. I'll take the tone of the replies as we are still in the format where it is just fun to talk about stuff; using the info you may get back is also entirely a personal preference also.  It isn't so easy to sense which of the rules are rules and which are simply informal suggestions. I'll take Kim's advice to go to the webpage if I ever find my self urged to address future questions.  Yeah verily, I'll speak no more of trimming and just stop reading when I get to the bottom of a truncated message--problem solved!

That said and in all sincerity- Thanks for the group-- especially to Lyn for taking so much time to forward such a range of geo news!!!. 

(Lyn, contact me off list if you wish/need for specifics on where and how to locate K-Pg Boundary material out of the Ripley/MacNariy/Prarrie Bluff formations.  Now is a good time to go as the snakes are still sluggish.  You are looking for marble-cake like layers in deep gullies, below the red layers off the clay beds-- not necessarily in contact with the marl beds. The subsequent tsunami, seismic and hurricane blowout reworking doesn't provide for a clear one stop place to go look.
