Congratulations to our Academic Decathlon Team for placing 2nd in their state competition! Individual awards included:
- Casey Sims: 2nd place in Music and 3rd place in Social Science
- Elias McEntire: 3rd place in Music
- Maria Oroyan: 3rd place in Language & Literature and Science
- Allen Wing: 3rd place in Mathematics
- Jordan Anderson: 3rd place in Essay

Today is the last day for Math NHS members to pay their dues and receive membership certificates this year. If you have not already paid your dues, please give them to Ms. Conell or Mrs. Leger by 2:25 this afternoon.
FRENCH NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: There will be a mandatory meeting on Thursday, 4/11, at lunch in E113 for all officers and new inductees. We will be discussing the induction ceremony and you will receive your induction invitations
All students and staff need to go to the Herff Jones website: teacherShoutOut.com, search for Volcano Vista, and vote for your favorite teacher. If we win the money will be given to the marquee fund.
Anne Frank will be performed in the Black Box this Friday and Saturday. Adults are $10.00 and Students are $6.00.
COUNSELING
- There are some great summer opportunities available! See Mrs. Sandy in room E224 if you are looking to build your college resume or are just looking to earn some extra money.
- Juniors: There will be a College Information Night on Thursday, April 11 at 6:00 pm in the PAC. Topics include financial aid, scholarships, grants, ACT/SAT and college deadlines.
- Seniors: There are several scholarships with a May 1st deadline. See Mrs. Sandy in room E224 for more information.
ATHLETICS
- The softball team will be having a Papa John's Pizza fundraiser TODAY.
- Any students interested in playing football next season there is a meeting on Friday in the lecture hall at lunch.
- Softball plays Eldorado here at 4 today.
- Our Tennis team has a match today against Cleveland. The Girls are at Cleveland and the Boys team is at home.
- Baseball plays St. Pius tomorrow at 4.
- On Friday our track teams will be in the APS Relays.
