Mock Trial: Your intelligence, charisma, and ability to speak on your feet have been kept secret too long—it's time to join Volcano Vista's Mock Trial team! Successful and highly regarded both in New Mexico and nationally, the Mock Trial team seeks to reload with young men and women who love to compete and are willing to work to compete successfully. Our 2013-2014 organizational meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 10, at 6:15 PM in Mr. Goodfellow's room, F110. Potential champions and their parents should plan on attending. Following the organizational meeting, practice is held from 6:30-8:30 in the evening on Mondays and Wednesdays, and also from 9:00-11:00 AM on Saturdays. During these times, our team members aim to become the best attorneys and witnesses they can be. The regional competition is in February, the state tournament in March—and we're aiming to once again send a team to nationals. And this year, elective credit is available for team members! NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: Our lunch clean-up assignment is the week of Sept 9 through Sept 13. Be sure you report for your assigned day to the A Hall Office no later than 11:20 to sign-in and get started. If you have questions about your assigned day for clean-up, speak to one of the officers or Mrs. Jones. Our next meeting is Monday, Sept 16 in Ms Green's room. Be working on your T Shirt design for our contest!
Current Mu Alpha Theta, Math NHS members will meet on Monday at lunch in Ms. Conell's room, F103. We will be discussing recruiting, lettering and cord requirements, and upcoming events. Please plan on attending.
Best Buds will meet this Friday during lunch in room E102. We will be holding officer elections. If you have missed any meetings or would like to join, please stop by before Friday.
Today is a Black-Out day. If you would like to buy a black-out shirt we have them in activities for $5.00. We only have small and medium in stock right now but will be getting large and XL next week.
All senate members that are planning on attending the Central District meeting on Saturday, there will be a meeting at lunch today in the lecture hall. Please bring your permission slips.
ATHLETICS:
- There will be a softball meeting on September 10th at 6:30 pm @VVHS. The meeting will be held at the seating area by the gym. We would like to let parents know about the softball program and also fundraising that is available to help pay for the girls player fees.
- Cross Country starts Saturday at UNM North Golf Course at 8AM.
- Girls Soccer plays Eldorado tonight at the soccer complex at 7:15. We are in the Metro Championship game. Everyone come out and support the Lady Hawks!
- Boys Soccer plays against Cleveland at 4 tomorrow at the complex.
