[californiadisasters] On This Date In California Weather History (May 14)



2003: A thunderstorm outflow boundary caused wind damage near Lemoore to fences, dairy barns and small structures.
Gusts were estimated at over 50 mph.

1995: Markleeville recorded 1.17" of precipitation.

1993: Two people were struck by lightning at Legacy Golf Course in Henderson, NV. 
One man was killed. 
The other man received minor injuries.

1972: Redwood City had a high of 95° F.

1962: 6" of snow fell at Glenbrook.

1951: Tehachapi received 2" of snow from a late season storm.

1921: The Aurora Borealis is observed as far south as Phoenix and Yuma. 
 This is the first appearance since records were kept at either location.

1918:
The temperature dropped to 30° F in Victorville, tied for the second coldest night in May during a long cold spell.

1899: 10" of snow fell at Susanville.
