Re: [californiadisasters] Re: Kate... Question about the 4.3 Maricopa and 3.9 Weldon earthquake today.

Actually, there is a documented fault--the Scodie Lineament. It is a fault
in the process of being born and the soon-to-be eastern projection of the
White Wolf, as well as the probable replacement for the outgoing Garlock
fault as it moves south and eventually (over thousands of years) become
inactive, the white wolf/scodie taking its place.

The Scodie Lineament is probably more dangerous than the White Wolf at this
point, because the White Wolf had it's *big un* (7.3 (moment mag))in 1952,
relieving much of its stress for a while.

The Scodie Lineament is an unknown factor...although we do know there was a
6.1(w) quake in the Walker Pass, credited to the Scodie Lineament, in 1946.

Check out this soon to be born fault (has not yet broke the surface) at the
pdf site above and you will understand why I am closely watching those small
quakes from down here in Tehachapi.
