People's Daily [China], October 22, 2010
100-million-year-old dinosaur fossil was recently discovered in Chifeng,
Inner Mongolia, which has brought an end to the assertion that there
were no dinosaurs in Chifeng in ancient times. The fossil is about 1.3
meters long and 0.6 meters high. The size of the dinosaur fossil's head
is 1.5 times that of an adult fist and the teeth in its beak-shaped
mouth are tight. Its tail is about 0.6 meters long. Its whole skeleton
is intact and clear, and it is highly identical to dinosaur images in
archival films. According to the collector of the fossil, it was
discovered on a mountain in Ningcheng County, Chifeng after the skeleton
was exposed from the earth by a heavy rain. Through excavation, the
intact fossilized skeleton was dug out from a sequence of sedimentary
rocks.
