On This Date In California Weather History....
1997: Large swell produced by Hurricane Linda slammed into Orange County.
Five people were swept off a jetty at the Wedge in Newport Beach and were carried 300 yards out to sea before they were rescued by a passing boat.
1971: Inyokern reached 110 degrees for a high.
1953: The high temperature at Lovelock, NV was 98.
1929: The high temperature at Portola was 101.
