Southern California Wildfire Season to be high risk this Fall, strong Santa Ana Winds expected

(TheWeatherSpace.com) -- Southern California has not had a major fire season for several years now and this is due to the lack of Santa Ana Wind events.

This will change this year. The pattern is acting; and shaping up to be a very high risk Santa Ana Wind and fire hazard season.

The season starts September 21st and already the pattern may bring the first offshore wind event into Southern California right on time.

The season will likely lead to the worst fire season in several years. All residents in Southern California are urged to clear loose brush and check all fire safety devices, including setting up your family evacuation plan.

The time to start is now. The Southern California Weather Authority weather forecast site will be on alert on season to issue Santa Ana Wind Watches and Warnings, days in advanced.

You will not go without being notified of the pending hazards.
